Welcome !
Hi there! I’m Helen, homegrown chef and herbal enthusiast living in the heart of Asheville, North Carolina. My kitchen smells like thyme and cinnamon most days, and if you ever drop by, there’s a good chance you’ll leave with a jar of homemade elderberry syrup or a warm slice of my honey-sweetened sweet potato pie.
Cooking has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a small town in Kentucky where my grandmother, Mabel, taught me to cook by feel, not by the book. She never used measuring cups, just a keen sense of smell and taste, and a quiet trust in what nature had to offer. From her, I learned to forage for wild herbs, steep roots for tea, and whip up meals that could cure a sore throat or soothe a troubled heart.
I love sharing not just what I make, but the stories behind each dish and remedy.
If you’re someone who finds joy in simmering pots, healing teas, and the wisdom tucked inside a sprig of rosemary, or honey throat tonic I developed after losing my voice at a music festival, then I think we’ll get along just fine. Welcome to my world Let’s cook, let’s heal.
With love !
Helen.
